Set Up Your Wizard Companion for the First Time
Summoning Your Companion
Before you can work with your wizard companion, you need to summon them into the world. Use the summoning item (typically obtained early in progression) and activate it in a clear area. You'll see purple particles and blue flames appear as your companion materializes.
Initial Equipment and Configuration
Once summoned, open your companion's inventory by interacting with them. This is where you'll hand over items:
- Spellbooks: Place any spellbooks you want them to use for combat or support
- Armor: Equip them with protective gear to increase their survivability
- Weapons: Add melee weapons as backup for close-range encounters
- Curios: Slot in accessory items for additional bonuses
After gearing them up, set their behavior mode. Start with Follow mode so they stay near you while you learn how they operate. You can switch to other modes like Guard, Passive, or Raid once you're comfortable with their mechanics.
Keep a Bound Sigil in your inventory—this lets you instantly teleport your companion back to you if they wander too far or get stuck.
