Wizard Companion Irons Spells N Spellbooks Addon FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I summon my wizard companion?
Use the summoning item (typically a special sigil or wand from the mod) in your hand to bring your wizard into the world. They'll appear with magical particles and be ready to follow you immediately.
My companion won't pick up items. What's wrong?
Check your companion's item pickup settings—you can configure what types of items they collect through their inventory or mod settings. If pickup is disabled entirely, enable it in their behavior configuration.
How do I give my wizard a spellbook?
Open your companion's inventory (usually by right-clicking them) and place spellbooks in their equipment slots just like you would equip yourself with armor and tools.
What's the difference between the behavior modes?
Follow keeps them at your side, Guard makes them defend a specific location, Passive stops them fighting entirely, and Raid makes them actively hunt enemies in the area.
How do I assign spells to specific roles?
Use the command `/wizardcompanion ` to tell your companion how to use a particular spell—whether it should be cast from distance (Enemy), up close (Enemy Close), or as a support spell (Buff).
My companion got lost. How do I get them back?
Use the Bound Sigil item to instantly teleport your companion to your location, no matter how far away they've wandered.
How do I make my wizard stronger?
Apply combat, potion, and bag upgrades to your companion—these are typically crafted items or found through progression that permanently boost their power and capabilities.
Can my companion wear armor and curios?
Yes, open their inventory and equip them with armor pieces and curio items the same way you'd equip yourself—this makes them tougher in combat.
Does my companion work with other mods' spells?
Your companion works with spells from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks and can be configured to use them, but compatibility with other spell mods depends on whether those mods integrate with this addon.
Why is my companion not casting spells?
Make sure they have a spellbook equipped, their behavior mode allows combat (not Passive), and you've assigned spell roles using the command so they know when to cast each spell.
