Do these plants spread on their own or do I have to place them manually?
Wild Flora plants generate naturally during world creation in their appropriate biomes, but they don't spread to new areas on their own. You'll need to manually place them if you want to add them to custom builds or areas where they didn't generate.
Can I break and replant 
lavender and other decorative plants?
Yes, all Wild Flora plants can be broken and collected as items, then placed wherever you want. They don't require special conditions like bone meal or specific light levels to stay placed.
Do bracken ferns actually slow you down when you walk through them?
Yes, bracken ferns apply a slowness effect when you move through them, similar to how soul sand works. This is purely cosmetic and doesn't damage you or prevent you from moving through.
Where exactly do I find kelp groves and what biome do they spawn in?
Large kelp groves generate naturally in lukewarm ocean biomes at deeper depths. You can find them by exploring ocean areas and diving down to locate the denser kelp formations.
Can I use lichen as a building block or does it have special properties?
Lichen blocks are purely decorative and work like any other solid block for building. The four color variants (silver, black, brown, and rust) give you flexible options for detailing and texturing your structures.
Do areca palms and fan palms have different sizes or do they always look the same?
Areca palms and fan palms generate in multiple visual variants with different shapes and details. Areca palms sometimes feature yellowing or peeled stem textures to add natural variety to jungle areas.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Wild Flora Mod adds decorative plants that are optimized to match Minecraft's original style, so performance impact is minimal. The mod should work smoothly on most systems, though heavily planted areas may have slightly more rendering overhead than vanilla terrain.
Do sedges along rivers have flowers and can I harvest them separately?
