Server-Side Fix Explained

What The Bucket Mod is designed so that installing it on the server fixes the bucket-loss bug for every connecting player, even those without the mod on their own client. This is the key feature for server owners and players on shared worlds.

Steps for Server Admins

1. Add What The Bucket Mod to the server's mods folder.

2. Restart the server so the mod loads.

3. Confirm the mod is listed as loaded in the server startup log.

4. Have players join and test crafting with a fish bucket, Powder Snow Bucket, Axolotl Bucket, or Tadpole Bucket.

5. Verify that an empty Bucket is returned after crafting.

Steps for Players

1. Join the server as normal — no client mod required for the fix.

2. Craft using any affected bucket as an ingredient.

3. Check that you receive an empty Bucket back.

If It Does Not Work

Make sure the server actually restarted after adding the mod. If the server runs a different mod loader than the one the mod supports, it will not load. Players on a vanilla server without the mod will still experience the original bug, so the fix depends entirely on the server having the mod installed.

No per-player configuration is needed.
