Find a Specific Biome Quickly

Craft and Activate Your Biome Compass

Start by gathering a compass and four wooden planks. Arrange them in your crafting table with the compass in the center and planks in the four surrounding slots. Once crafted, hold the Biome Compass in your main hand.

Select Your Target Biome

Right-click while holding the compass to open the target selection menu. You'll see a list of all available biomes in your world. If you know the biome name, use the search bar to filter results quickly—this saves time when looking for rare variants like cold oceans or mushroom fields.

Navigate to Your Destination

Once selected, the compass needle will point directly toward your target biome. Watch the needle's direction and move accordingly. You can also enable the on-screen overlay (available in bar or column mode) to see your distance and position relative to the biome in real time. This overlay updates as you travel, making it easy to confirm you're heading the right way.

Keep moving in the direction the needle points until you reach the biome boundary. The overlay will show when you're close.
