Return to Your Last Death Location Quickly

Using the Recovery Compass

The Recovery Compass is your lifeline after dying. Craft one and keep it in your inventory or hotbar. When you die, the compass automatically tracks your last death point.

Teleporting Back

After respawning, simply right-click the recovery compass to warp directly to where you died. This works across dimensions, so you can retrieve your items even if you fell into the Nether or End.

Timing Matters

Teleport quickly—your dropped items despawn after a set time. The recovery compass only remembers your most recent death, so if you die again before retrieving your items, the compass will point to your new death location instead.

Combining with Other Tools

You can also use a Waypoint Hub near your death spot if you've already set one up there, or link a compass to a lodestone in a frequently dangerous area as a backup recovery point.

Always carry a recovery compass when exploring dangerous terrain or mining deep underground.
