Vitals Under Siege FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

What does the H key do?
Press H to open your body status panel, which displays all your vital signs including blood pressure, heart rhythm, core temperature, oxygen levels, and any active injuries or organ damage.
Can I die from blood loss even with food in my inventory?
Yes—eating food no longer restores health in this mod. Instead, you must actively treat wounds by crafting medical supplies, stopping bleeding, and stabilizing your vitals before you bleed out.
What happens if I break a bone?
Bone fractures and joint dislocations limit your movement speed and prevent you from eating until treated. Follow the bone fracture treatment guide to set the break and regain mobility.
Do I need the same blood type to give someone a transfusion?
No, but blood type compatibility matters—incompatible transfusions can cause serious harm. Each player is assigned one of eight real blood types; check the transfusion guide to match types safely.
Can my teammate perform surgery on me if I'm panicking?
Yes—when you're injured and in pain, your hands shake, making precise actions harder. A nearby teammate with steadier hands can perform surgery and medical steps for you during combat or emergencies.
What's the difference between a cut, a wound, and a hemorrhage?
Each injury is tracked individually based on depth, bleeding rate, dirt contamination, and age. A small cut might stop bleeding on its own, while a deep wound or active hemorrhage requires immediate bandaging or surgery to prevent death.
How many medical items does this mod add?
The mod adds over 280 medical items and tools to treat injuries, stop bleeding, clean wounds, set bones, and stabilize failing organs.
Can I use this mod in multiplayer, or does it only work in singleplayer?
It works in both singleplayer and multiplayer worlds. On a server, each player can opt in independently, and teammates can assist with surgery and medical treatment.
