Generate and Customize an In-Game Configuration Screen

Accessing the Config Screen

VanillaConfig can automatically generate a user-friendly configuration screen that mirrors your config structure. Categories become sections, and each entry gets an appropriate UI control—checkboxes for booleans, sliders for numbers with ranges, text fields for strings, and dropdowns for enums.

Integrating with Mod Menu

1. Register your config screen with Mod Menu or open it through your own custom button or command.

2. The screen respects your current config values and displays them immediately.

3. Players can adjust settings using keyboard, mouse, or controller navigation.

4. When they confirm changes, VanillaConfig writes the new values to disk automatically.

Accessibility

The generated screen follows accessibility best practices: clear labels derived from translation keys, consistent keyboard navigation, and descriptive tooltips. Players with accessibility needs can navigate and modify settings comfortably. No additional customization is required—VanillaConfig handles the details for you.
