Tis 3D Additions FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using TIS-3D Additions?
TIS-3D Additions is an extension mod, so you need the base TIS-3D mod installed first. Once both are loaded, the new modules and interfaces will appear in the creative inventory and become craftable through normal TIS-3D recipes.
What's the difference between the Two Digit Display and a regular
display module?
The Two Digit Display shows only the lower 8 bits of a value in hexadecimal format using large digits, making it useful for quick visual readouts of small numbers without taking up much space.
How do I read data from a brewing stand with TIS-3D?
Place a Brewing Stand Serial Interface adjacent to a brewing stand, then connect it to your TIS-3D computer. You can read the remaining brew time and current blaze fuel level through the serial protocol just like with a furnace interface.
Can I use the infrared remote control to automate things?
The remote control sends fixed-value infrared packets from your hand, so it's designed for manual triggering rather than automation. It's useful for testing infrared receivers or sending specific signals on demand.
What can I do with the Lectern Serial Interface?
You can read the current page number and total pages from a lectern, and you can also write to set which page is currently displayed—useful for creating page-turning automation or displays.
Does TIS-3D Additions add any new data storage options?
Yes, it includes stack modules for small-scale data storage, allowing you to store and retrieve values within your TIS-3D computer network.
Can I combine multiple modules to create custom machines?
Yes, TIS-3D Additions supports building multi-block computers by combining different modules, allowing you to create specialized machines tailored to your needs.
Is TIS-3D Additions compatible with other mods?
TIS-3D Additions is designed as a pure extension to TIS-3D and doesn't add new block types that conflict with other mods, though compatibility depends on your specific modpack.
Why isn't my Two Digit Display showing anything?
The display only shows the value from the last read operation—make sure your computer is actually sending data to the
display module through the network, and check that the value being sent is valid.
display module through the network, and check that the value being sent is valid. Can I use the brewing stand interface to control when brewing happens?
The Brewing Stand Serial Interface is read-only for brew progress and fuel status; it doesn't control the brewing process itself, which is managed by the vanilla brewing stand mechanics.
