How do I craft a helicopter?
Helicopters are crafted at a crafting table using materials like iron, redstone, and other components—check your crafting guide or JEI for the exact recipe. Once crafted, place it on the ground like a boat to spawn it in the world.
How do I get into a helicopter?
Right-click on a spawned helicopter to enter it as the pilot. You'll see the cockpit view with the HUD display, and you can then use WASD or your movement keys to fly.
My helicopter won't respond to controls—what's wrong?
Make sure you're actually seated in the pilot position (check your first-person view). If you're in cargo or passenger mode, you won't be able to control it—exit and re-enter the helicopter as the pilot.
How do I make a helicopter follow me automatically?
Shoot an unmanned helicopter once with a rocket or missile to recruit it as an AI companion. It will then follow you, match your movements, and hold formation with any other companions you've recruited.
Can I transport animals and villagers in my helicopter?
Yes—right-click on any mob near your helicopter to load it into the cargo system as a passenger. To unload them, break the helicopter with an axe, just like you would with a boat.
How do I avoid accidentally destroying my base with missiles?
Press the R key to toggle missile safety on and off. When safety is enabled, your missiles won't fire, preventing accidental damage to your structures.
What's Builder Mode and how do I use it?
Builder Mode disables all weapons so you can fly and build without accidentally destroying your work. Double-tap the R key to toggle it on or off.
How do I start a dogfight with my own companion?
Shoot your AI companion 5 more times after recruiting it, and it will turn hostile and engage you in combat. Your companion will use predictive aiming to lead your movements, making the fight challenging.
Can I summon my helicopter if I lose it?
Yes—use the command `/thxhelicoptermod findme` to summon your helicopter to your current location instantly, even across different dimensions.
Do my passengers take damage from my helicopter's explosions?
No—passengers loaded in your cargo are protected from your own explosion damage, so you can safely fight while carrying mobs and friends.
