Recognize Cold Item Warnings

Items with freezing temperatures will display "Too Cold" or similar tooltips. These include ice, snow, and other frozen materials. Picking them up without protection causes slowness and weakness effects.

Use Cold-Resistant Gear

Equip insulating items in your off-hand before touching frozen materials. Just as with hot items, protective gear shields you from temperature damage and prevents automatic dropping.

Recover From Chilling Effects

If you accidentally touch something freezing without protection, you'll experience slowness and weakness. Move to a warm location—near fire, lava, or in sunlight—to naturally recover faster. Drinking warm beverages or eating hot food may also help restore your condition.

Manage Your Inventory

Keep cold items separated from hot items to prevent unexpected reactions. Store frozen materials in dedicated containers or chests away from heat sources.

Prepare in Advance

Craft or gather insulating gear before venturing into cold biomes or handling ice blocks. Having backup protective equipment prevents getting stranded with debuffs.
