How do I get started with brawler combat?
Equip Gauntlets as your weapon and wear a full Ruffian armor set to activate your brawler abilities. Once equipped, you'll begin building Grit during combat, which fuels your special moves.
Where do I find the Brawler's Ledger?
The Brawler's Ledger is a spell book that contains your fist-fighting abilities and works like other spell books in Spell Engine. You'll need to equip it alongside your Gauntlets to access your brawler skills.
What does Grit do and how fast does it build?
Grit is your combat resource that builds up passively during fights and caps at two points. You gain one Grit point every 8 seconds while in combat, and spending Grit on Smash attacks triggers powerful knockback effects.
Why did I launch into the air when I used Smash?
When you use a Smash attack while holding Grit, you get launched in the same direction as your target—this is intentional and lets you reposition during fights. Plan your positioning before using Grit-powered Smash moves.
How do I deal damage without Grit?
Your Gauntlets have a passive skill that gives you a quick damage boost whenever you hit an enemy, even without Grit. This means you can fight effectively while waiting for Grit to build up.
What's the difference between haymakers, uppercuts, and pummels?
These are different special moves with varying effects—haymakers and rising uppercuts apply the Smash effect for knockback, while fast pummels focus on rapid damage. Experiment with each ability to see which fits your combat style.
Do slammed enemies stay down or get back up?
Enemies that hit the floor after being slammed will bounce right back up, so Smash attacks don't permanently disable foes. Use this bounce mechanic to chain combos or reposition for your next move.
Can I use brawler skills with other weapons?
Brawler abilities are tied to Gauntlets, so you need to have them equipped to use your special moves. Switching to other weapons will disable access to your Brawler's Ledger abilities.
Does Ruffian armor give armor points or just look cool?
Ruffian armor provides actual protection like other armor sets in Minecraft. Wearing the full set also enables your brawler passive skills, so it's both functional and thematic.
