How to Fight Stalker Creepers in Caves and Mineshafts
Why Caves Are Dangerous
Stalker Creepers are at their worst underground. Tight corridors, blind corners, and low light give them everything they need to follow you undetected. In caves, you can't rely on open sightlines, so you have to change your tactics.
Cave Combat Steps
1. Move slowly and check every corner before you turn it. Sprinting through a mineshaft is the fastest way to get ambushed.
2. Place torches as you go, not just at intersections. Light the walls and floor so a creeper can't stand in shadow a few blocks away.
3. Use a shield in your off-hand. If a stalker detonates at close range, a
raised shield can save your life.
4. Fight in open caverns when possible. If you hear a creeper following you, retreat to a large room where you can see it coming.
5. Never fight near lava or a cliff edge. A creeper explosion can knock you into both.
6. If you're low on health, don't try to clear a cave. Retreat to the surface and come back prepared.
Escape Plan
If you're overwhelmed, block off the tunnel behind you with cobblestone and back out the way you came. Stalker Creepers can't break
blocks, so a quick wall buys you time to heal and regroup.
