Spawned Eggs Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I know which spawn egg is which?
Each spawn egg now displays a unique icon representing the mob it spawns—for example, a creeper face for Creeper eggs and a pig snout for Pig eggs. Hover over any spawn egg in your inventory to see its name tooltip, which confirms what mob it will spawn.
Do the spawn eggs work differently or just look different?
The spawn eggs function exactly the same way as vanilla spawn eggs; this pack only changes their visual appearance. They spawn the same mobs with the same behavior and properties.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs?
Yes, but load order matters. If another resource pack also modifies spawn egg textures, whichever pack is loaded lower in your resource pack list will take priority. Place this pack lower if you want its textures to show.
Why do some spawn eggs still look similar to each other?
Mobs that are visually similar in the game (like different fish or different colored sheep variants) may have spawn eggs with similar icons to reflect that relationship. The icons are still distinct enough to identify each mob when you look closely.
Does this pack affect spawn eggs in Survival Mode?
No, spawn eggs only appear in Creative Mode inventory. This pack has no effect on Survival Mode gameplay.
Will this pack slow down my game?
No, this is a lightweight resource pack that only replaces textures. It has no impact on performance or frame rate.
Can I customize the spawn egg icons myself?
Yes, you can edit the texture files in the pack's assets folder to create your own custom icons. The spawn egg textures are located in the standard resource pack texture directory.
Does this work with modded mobs and spawn eggs?
Only if the mod author has added custom spawn egg textures that this pack includes. Modded mobs without included textures will display with their default appearance.
What if I want to turn off the pack temporarily?
Disable it in your resource packs menu by moving it to the 'Available' section, then reload your world. You can re-enable it anytime.
Are the icons accurate to the actual mob appearances?
Yes, each icon is designed to visually represent the mob it spawns, making it easy to recognize at a glance without needing to read the tooltip.
