Identify Autosave Lagspikes
Not all lag is caused by chunk saving. To determine if this mod will help:
- Watch for patterns: Do freezes happen at regular intervals (usually every 30 seconds)? That's likely autosave.
- Check your activity: Do you lag when standing still, not building or fighting? Autosave lag happens regardless of what you're doing.
- Listen for disk sounds: On some systems, you might hear your hard drive working during the freeze.
- Test in creative mode: Autosave lag still occurs in creative mode, so if you freeze there too, it's probably chunk saving.
When This Mod Helps
Smooth Chunk Save Mod is most effective if:
- You experience regular, predictable freezes
- You play on a server with multiple active players
- Your world has many loaded chunks
- Lag happens during normal gameplay, not during complex redstone or heavy computation
When It Won't Help
If you lag constantly, experience random stutters, or freeze only during specific activities (like opening GUIs), the problem is likely something else—not chunk saving.
