Sirencraft FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft my first siren?
Check your crafting recipes in-game for the siren block recipe—all siren models are craftable in survival mode using common materials. Once you have one, place it on a solid block or mounting pole and right-click to select your warning signal.
Why isn't my siren making any sound?
Make sure you've connected redstone power (redstone dust or a lever) to the siren block and activated it. Also check that your game volume isn't muted and the siren has finished its previous three-minute cycle plus wind-down sound before triggering again.
Can I change a siren's color after I place it?
No—you need to dye the siren block before placing it by combining it with dye in a crafting table. Once placed, you'll need to break it and re-dye it if you want a different color.
How far away can players hear a siren?
A single siren can warn players across a 1024 by 1024 block area, making it effective for large bases and towns. For even wider coverage, set up multiple sirens in a network.
How long does the alarm sound last?
The main alarm runs for exactly three minutes once it receives redstone power. After that, a wind-down sound effect plays, and you must wait for it to finish before the siren can be triggered again.
Can I use different warning signals on the same siren?
Yes—right-click any placed siren block to open its menu and choose which warning signal you want it to play. You can change the signal anytime without breaking the block.
What's the best way to power multiple sirens at once?
Use redstone dust or repeaters to connect multiple siren blocks to a single lever or redstone source. This lets you trigger all your sirens simultaneously for a coordinated alarm network.
Do mounting poles affect how far the siren's sound travels?
Mounting poles are for building and visibility only—they don't change the siren's 1024 by 1024 block warning range. They're purely decorative and structural for creating tall, impressive towers.
Can I automate sirens to trigger based on events?
Yes—you can build redstone contraptions using comparators, repeaters, and other redstone components to trigger sirens based on conditions like mob detection or player proximity. Check your guides on automating siren alerts for specific setups.
Will this mod cause lag if I have many sirens?
The mod is designed to be lightweight, but having dozens of sirens in one area could impact performance depending on your system. Test with a reasonable number of sirens and monitor your frame rate if you're building a massive network.
