Reading Tool Damage Visually
Simplecraft X16 adds progressive visual wear to your tools as they take damage. Instead of just watching a durability bar, you'll see your pickaxe, axe, sword, and shovel gradually show signs of use.
How to Track Durability
1. Watch your held tool — As you use a tool to mine, chop, or dig, look at its appearance in your hand or in the inventory. You'll notice scratches, discoloration, or structural changes appear over time.
2. Check before important tasks — Before starting a major mining operation or combat, examine your tool's condition. Heavy visual wear means durability is running low.
3. Plan repairs early — When you notice significant damage appearing on a tool's model, prepare to repair it at an
anvil or craft a replacement. This prevents unexpected breaks mid-task.
Tips
- The visual wear is most noticeable on tools held in first-person view.
- Different tool types show wear differently based on their design.
- Combine this with shaders to see wear effects even more clearly under varied lighting.
