Simple Orbital Strike FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get my first strike rod?
Use the command `/orbitalstrike stab` or `/orbitalstrike nuke` to receive a working rod immediately, or craft one by combining a fishing rod with stacks of TNT on a crafting table. Commands are the fastest way to start if you have permission.
What's the difference between stab shot and
nuke shot?
Stab shot drills a deep vertical column of explosions straight down through terrain, perfect for mining or creating shafts.
Nuke shot spawns a wide ring of TNT high in the sky that spreads outward before detonating in a massive blast radius, dealing damage over a much larger area. Why isn't my strike rod working?
Make sure you're right-clicking (not left-clicking) on a block you can see, and that the rod has durability remaining. If you crafted it, verify you used the correct recipe with a fishing rod and the required TNT stacks on a crafting table.
Can I use strike rods in Survival mode?
Yes, both
Stab Shot and
Nuke Shot work in Survival mode. You'll need to craft the rods using fishing rods and TNT, or have a server admin give them to you via commands.

Look directly at the ground block where you want the strike to land and position your crosshair on it, then right-click. The strike will fire onto that exact block location.
Can I change how powerful the explosions are?
Yes, the mod includes a configuration menu where you can adjust explosion power, knockback force, nuke radius, and whether blocks are destroyed. These settings apply to all strikes fired after you save the config.
What happens if my strike rod breaks?
Strike rods have durability that decreases with each use. Once durability runs out, the rod stops working; you'll need to craft a new one or have an admin give you another via command.
Can I limit who can use strike rods on my server?
Yes, the mod configuration includes permission level settings that let you restrict strike rod access to specific player ranks or operators.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Large nuke shots with wide radius settings can impact performance due to the number of explosions and block updates. Adjust the nuke radius and explosion power in the config to balance gameplay with server performance.
Can I change how much TNT is needed to craft a strike rod?
Yes, the configuration menu includes crafting cost settings where you can adjust the amount of TNT required to craft strike rods.
