Scp 012 FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Where do I find SCP-012 in the world?
SCP-012 spawns inside containment chambers as an Iron Box. You'll need to locate these structures in your world, then decide whether to open or break the box to access the sheet music inside.
What happens if I break the Iron Box?
Breaking the Iron Box causes the SCP-012 sheet music to drop as an item. Once it's in your inventory, you'll immediately start suffering from the Bleeding effect, which deals continuous damage and cannot be stopped until you get rid of the sheet.
How do I get rid of the Bleeding effect?
The Bleeding effect is caused by having SCP-012 in your inventory. Drop the sheet music or store it back in a closed Iron Box to stop taking damage and remove the effect.
Can I safely open the Iron Box without taking damage?
You can right-click the Iron Box to open it without breaking it, but opening it activates SCP-012's pull effect and Bleeding aura within 3 blocks. Stay at a distance or wear protective gear to avoid the damage.
How do I close the Iron Box once it's open?
Right-click the open box to close it, or use a redstone signal to close it remotely. However, you cannot close the box while you or nearby entities are suffering from the Bleeding effect.
What's the best way to contain SCP-012 safely?
Keep SCP-012 inside a closed Iron Box at all times. Store the box in a secure location away from your base, and only open it if necessary while maintaining distance from the pull radius and Bleeding aura.
Can I craft my own Iron Box?
Yes, you can craft an Iron Box using 8 iron ingots and 1 glass block. This allows you to create additional containment boxes for storage or transport of the sheet music.
Does SCP-012 affect mobs and villagers?
Yes, SCP-012's pull effect and Bleeding aura affect players, villagers, and illagers within 3 blocks when the box is open. Any of these entities can be pulled toward the box and take damage.
What's the Bleeding effect and how bad is it?
The Bleeding effect deals 2 hearts of damage every second and includes disturbing visual and audio effects. It's extremely dangerous and will quickly kill you if you don't remove the source (the sheet music) from your inventory.
Can I use redstone to automate the Iron Box?
Yes, you can send redstone signals to the Iron Box to close it remotely, which is useful for automated containment systems. However, redstone cannot open the box—you must right-click it manually.
