What the Mod Actually Changes
Once installed, Remove Mouseover Highlight stops the game from drawing the thin black wireframe box that appears around any block your crosshair touches. That outline is normally rendered every frame as a selection indicator, so removing it means your view stays clean even while you are actively targeting a block. You do not need to press a key or open a menu for this to work — the change is automatic the moment the mod loads.
Confirming It Is Working
1. Launch the game and load any world.
2. Look directly at a nearby block, such as the ground or a wall.
3. Check that no black border appears around the block face you are aiming at.
4. Break or place a block to confirm interaction still works normally — the outline is only a visual overlay, so mining, placing, and using items are unaffected.
5. If you still see an outline, make sure no other mod that re-adds selection boxes is loaded alongside it, since two mods touching the same renderer can conflict.
Adjusting to the Change
Because the outline is such a familiar cue, you may briefly misjudge which block you are targeting. Spend a few minutes in a safe area placing and breaking blocks to retrain your eye. The lack of a highlight is purely cosmetic, so nothing about reach distance or hit detection changes.
