You use emeralds to purchase armor pieces from the Armory Block's menu screen.

Military armor provides the same protection as diamond armor but includes one extra point of toughness, and you can mix different pieces together without losing defense.
What are armor plates and how many can you equip?
Armor plates are attachments you can equip up to three of in your vest to absorb damage from low-damage hits during fights.
How do you activate night vision on military helmets?
Put on a helmet with Night Vision Goggles and press V to toggle the night vision on or off.
How many different military armor sets are included in this mod?
The mod includes 11 different armor sets: Combat, Crimson, Airforce, Blackout, Ghillie, Arctic, Shadow Ops, Panzer Crew, Viper, Intel, and Secret Service.
Can hostile mobs spawn wearing military gear in this mod?
Yes, there is a game setting that allows zombies and skeletons to spawn wearing military armor.
