Rearm Combat Overhaul FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I activate a Perfect Shot with a bow?
Draw your bow and hold it fully drawn for a moment until you see the visual indicator (usually a glow or particle effect around the arrow). Release to fire a Perfect Shot, which deals increased damage and can trigger critical hits.
What's the difference between a regular sword hit and a Critical Counter?
A Critical Counter only triggers after you've blocked an attack with a shield. Once you block, your next sword strike within a short window will deal bonus damage and apply the counter effect.
How does the Crippling Throw work on axes?
When you throw an axe (by holding and releasing like a bow), it can apply a bleed effect to the target if it hits. The bleed deals damage over time, making axes useful for weakening tougher enemies.
Can I use Parry to block arrows and other projectiles?
Yes, Parry lets you reflect projectiles back at enemies when you time your shield block correctly. You need to block just as the projectile reaches you to successfully parry it.
Do Netherite bows and crossbows exist, and how do I get them?
Yes, you can upgrade regular bows and crossbows to Netherite versions, which have improved durability and damage. Check your mod's crafting recipes or configuration for the specific upgrade method.
Why does my armor feel weaker than before?
ReArm rebalances armor defense to scale linearly instead of the vanilla formula, making armor progression more predictable but requiring you to upgrade more consistently as you face stronger enemies.
What are the new enchantments, and which armor pieces can use them?
The mod adds Melee, Elemental, and Magic Protection enchantments as alternatives or additions to standard Protection. Check your enchanting table or anvil to see which pieces accept each type.
Can I turn off specific mechanics I don't like?
Yes, ReArm is fully configurable. You can adjust or disable individual mechanics like Perfect Shots, Critical Counters, or Parry, and tweak damage values and cooldowns to suit your playstyle.
Does this mod work with other combat mods?
Compatibility depends on what other mods you're using; check the mod's documentation or configuration for known conflicts. Some mods that heavily modify weapons or enchantments may clash with ReArm's changes.
I'm not seeing the visual effects for Perfect Shots or Parry—is something wrong?
Check your particle settings in-game and make sure the mod's config hasn't disabled visual feedback. If effects are still missing, verify the mod is properly installed and there are no conflicting resource packs.
