Understand How Realistic Terrain Affects Biome Characteristics

Biome Appearance Changes

Realistic Terrain Generation modifies only the *shape* of terrain, not the blocks, mobs, or vegetation rules of biomes. This means:

  • Forest biomes retain their trees and grass but now grow on rolling hills and valleys instead of flat terrain
  • Desert biomes maintain sand and cacti but feature natural dunes, canyons, and oases
  • Mountain biomes become dramatically taller and more jagged with steeper slopes
  • Swamp biomes develop natural water channels and uneven ground
  • Snowy biomes create snow-covered peaks and valleys with realistic elevation variation

Biome Compatibility

The mod works seamlessly with biomes from other mods. Any custom biome added by another mod will be reshaped using the same realistic generation algorithm, creating natural integration. This means you can combine this mod with biome-adding mods and enjoy both the new biome types and the improved terrain shape simultaneously.

Vanilla mob spawning, crop growth, and resource distribution remain unchanged—only the landscape topology is affected.
