Realistic Nukes FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start building my first bomb?
Place a
B83 Assembly Bracket on flat ground in a 1×2 space, then right-click it with the
Plutonium Primary to begin assembly. You'll add the remaining components one at a time in order: Electronics,
Tritium Reservoir,
Interstage Front, and Canned Secondary Assembly.

Yes—while assembling, sneak and right-click with an empty hand on the bracket to cycle through different yield options. You can adjust the power at any point before you close the casing.
What's the difference between the B83 and F485?
The B83 is customizable and lets you choose yields anywhere in its range, while the F485 is a fixed 2.5-megaton warhead you simply place and detonate. Use the B83 for flexibility and the F485 when you want maximum destruction without assembly.
How do I detonate a bomb without it going off in my face?
After closing the casing, sneak and right-click the bomb with a
Radio Detonator to link it, then move away and right-click anywhere in the air to trigger the detonation remotely. This keeps you safe from the blast.

The mod spreads block-breaking over time to keep your game stable even during massive blasts, and it updates untouched chunks with damage as you walk near them afterward. You shouldn't experience major lag spikes.
Why does my crater look different from my friend's?
Crater shape depends on where the bomb explodes—underwater craters, underground detonations, and air bursts all generate different formations. The mod calculates these based on real-world physics and terrain.
Can mobs survive a nuclear blast?
Yes—mobs in the open heat flash zone will burn, but any mob hiding behind solid cover (blocks, terrain) will survive. This applies to both the initial blast and the fire spread.
Will the crater fill with water automatically?
Only if the bomb detonates near an ocean or river; the mod will fill the crater to create a giant lake. Otherwise, you'll get a dry crater that reaches down to bedrock.
What blocks break at different distances from the blast?
Stone and hard blocks break near the center, while glass and leaves only break further away in the outer blast zone. The exact distance depends on the bomb's yield and real-world scaling.
Do trees catch fire in the blast zone?
Yes—any trees standing in the heat flash zone will burn down to their trunks. Trees outside this zone won't be affected by fire, though they may still be destroyed by the blast itself.
