Primal Aether Surge FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with physics tools?
Craft or obtain a PhysicsGun,
Magnetizer, ChainCreator, or Launcher from your mod's creative inventory or crafting recipes. Hold the tool in your main hand, then press TAB to open its settings menu where you can adjust strength, range, and interaction modes before using it.
Magnetizer, ChainCreator, or Launcher from your mod's creative inventory or crafting recipes. Hold the tool in your main hand, then press TAB to open its settings menu where you can adjust strength, range, and interaction modes before using it.Why aren't my physics objects moving when I use a tool?
Check that the object is actually a physics-enabled block or entity—regular Minecraft blocks won't respond unless converted. Verify your tool's strength slider is turned up in the settings menu (TAB), and make sure you're close enough to the object (tool range matters).
How do I make blocks fall and collide with terrain?
Use the PhysicsGun to grab a block and lift it, or use the /vxsummon command to spawn physics-enabled boxes and objects. Once they're physics bodies, they'll fall and collide realistically with the ground and other objects around them.
Can I drive vehicles in this mod?
Yes—spawn a car or motorcycle using /vxsummon velthoric:car ~ ~ ~ (or similar vehicle command). Press F3 + B to see hitboxes and locate the driver seat, then right-click to enter and drive with standard movement controls.
How do I connect objects together?
Use the ChainCreator tool to link multiple physics objects or tether them to the ground. Hold the tool, adjust its settings via TAB, then interact with objects in sequence to create chains between them.
Do physics objects save when I close the world?
Yes—physics objects are saved directly with your world data, so they'll stay in place exactly where you left them after server restarts or reloading the world.
How do I make items float or sink in water?
Physics-enabled objects automatically respond to buoyancy based on their weight and shape—heavier or denser objects sink while lighter ones float. This works in both water and lava without any special setup.
What happens to mobs when they die?
Mobs with physics enabled will ragdoll realistically when defeated, with their skeletal bodies responding to gravity and colliding with terrain instead of just disappearing or dropping loot in place.
Can I test physics without building a whole setup?
Use the /vxtest command to spawn pre-built test setups like soft bodies, chain grids, and other physics demonstrations for quick experimentation and learning.
Does this mod affect performance or server stability?
Physics calculations can impact performance depending on how many active physics objects you have—use /vxkill to remove nearby physics objects or clear specific types if you experience lag or instability.
