Pocket Beastmaster FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I tame my first pet?
Open the Taming Guide (included in your inventory) to find what food your target mob likes, then feed it that food repeatedly until hearts appear and it becomes your pet. Different mobs require different foods—passive animals prefer crops and treats, while hostile mobs need Monster Meat or specialized foods.
Why won't my pet follow me?
Check your Mob Behavior Controller by right-clicking your pet and make sure the movement mode is set to Follow instead of Stay or Wander. If it's already on Follow, try moving further away or re-equipping the controller.
How do I make my pet bigger again after taming?
Equip the Best Body epic upgrade to your pet using Shift + Right-Click on the pet, which will restore it to full size. You need to unlock upgrade slots first by completing tasks with your pet.
Can I tame boss mobs like the Ender Dragon?
Yes, you can tame bosses using their specific taming foods found in the Taming Guide, but they will be miniaturized when first tamed. Equip the BOSS Power epic upgrade to restore them to their full boss-sized strength.
What's the difference between Passive, Defensive, and Aggressive combat modes?
Passive means your pet won't attack anything, Defensive makes it attack only mobs that hit you first, and Aggressive makes it attack all hostile mobs on sight. Set these modes using the Mob Behavior Controller.
How do I carry multiple pets without them taking up inventory space?
Craft or find a Mob Pocket, then charge it and right-click to store your pets inside—you can carry multiple companions in a single pocket item. Use the same pocket to release them whenever you need them.
My pet disappeared—how do I find it?
Use the My Mobs Finder to locate lost pets, or use the Mob Recall Totem to teleport them directly to your side. Both items are designed to help you recover companions that wandered away.
Do pet upgrades stack, or can I only use one at a time?
You can equip multiple upgrades at once—each pet has upgrade slots (up to four) that unlock as you complete tasks, allowing you to combine effects like life steal, poison attacks, and shields on the same pet.
Can I ride any pet, or only certain ones?
You can ride any pet that you've equipped with the Ride Mobs epic upgrade, regardless of size or type. Use standard movement controls to ride and press your ability key to trigger that mob's special attack.
Do pets lose durability on their armor and weapons?
Yes, pet armor and weapons have visible durability that decreases during combat, so you'll need to repair or replace them periodically using the same materials you'd use for regular gear.
