Where do I find
ancient sediment?
Ancient sediment spawns on the ocean floor in ocean biomes. Dive down and look for distinctive blocks on the sea bed, then mine them with a pickaxe to collect fossils and coal. How do I extract DNA from fossils?
Place fossils into the
Analyzer machine along with the required materials. The Analyzer will process them and output DNA vials that you can use to revive prehistoric creatures.
Analyzer machine along with the required materials. The Analyzer will process them and output DNA vials that you can use to revive prehistoric creatures. What do I do with DNA vials?
DNA vials are used in the revival machinery to grow ancient eggs and hatch prehistoric creatures. Insert them into the appropriate machine along with any other required components to begin the revival process.
Can I keep revived creatures if they die?
Yes—when revived prehistoric animals are defeated, they drop as collectible items that you can pick up and place back into the water without losing them permanently.
What's the difference between revived creatures and living cuttlefish/dugongs?
Cuttlefish and dugongs spawn naturally in ocean biomes and are already alive. Revived creatures like Plesiosaurus and Dunkleosteus must be hatched from eggs using DNA extracted from fossils.
Do I need specific tools to mine
ancient sediment?
You need a pickaxe to mine
ancient sediment blocks. A higher-tier pickaxe will speed up the process, though any pickaxe will work.

Analyzer and revival machines?
Set them up near your ocean mining site or in a base with easy water access. Since you'll be collecting sediment from the ocean floor, having your processing machines nearby saves travel time.
Can revived creatures survive in any water, or do they need the ocean?
Revived prehistoric creatures can be placed in any water source, including oceans, rivers, and artificial pools. They don't require a specific biome to survive once hatched.
What happens if a revived creature wanders away or despawns?
If a revived creature is defeated or dies, it drops as an item you can collect. If it simply wanders away, you may need to search for it or consider building an enclosure to keep your creatures contained.
Can I find Ginkgo trees naturally, or do I need to plant them?
Ginkgo trees are introduced by the mod as an ancient flora type. You can plant them using Ginkgo saplings found or crafted in the mod, adding this prehistoric wood type to your builds.
