How to Change Excavation Shape, Radius, and Block Limit
What the shape options do
Ore Excavation is not limited to ore veins. Its config lets you define the shape of the area mined, such as a cube, a column, or a vein-following pattern. You can also set a radius and a maximum block count. These settings decide how aggressive each excavation action is.
Configuring the shape
1. Open the mod's config through its config file or the in-game config menu.
2. Find the shape setting and choose the pattern you want (for example vein, cube, or column).
3. Set the radius or dimensions for shapes that use them.
4. Set the maximum number of blocks per excavation to keep actions reasonable.
5. Save the config and reload the world if required.
Testing your settings
- Mine a single block in a test area and observe which
blocks disappear. - Adjust radius or block limit if the result is too large or too small.
- Switch between vein mode for ores and column mode for
things like trees or vertical shafts.
Tips
- Smaller radii are safer near your builds.
- A block limit prevents lag and accidental terrain damage.
- Different shapes suit different tasks, so change the setting per job rather than leaving one extreme value.
