How to Activate Vein Mining and Choose the Right Keybind

Understanding the activation system

Ore Excavation does not mine veins automatically. You must hold down its activation key while breaking a block. By default this is bound to a key you can find in the mod's keybind category in the controls menu. If the key is unbound or conflicts with another mod, vein mining will appear to do nothing.

Steps to get it working

1. Open Options, then Controls, then Key Binds.

2. Find the Ore Excavation category and check the key assigned to the excavate action.

3. If it conflicts (shown in red), assign a key you can comfortably hold while mining.

4. Enter a world and hold that key, then break a single ore block.

5. The whole connected vein of the same ore should break at once.

If nothing happens

• Make sure you are actually holding the key, not tapping it.
• Check that the block you are breaking is one the mod is configured to excavate.
• Confirm the mod's excavation feature is enabled in its config.
• Some setups require the correct tool type for the block, so try with a proper pickaxe.

Once the keybind works, the same key also controls column and shape modes described in the mod's other settings.
