Music Disc Maker FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Can I play music on a regular jukebox or does it need to be golden?
Custom music discs work on both standard Minecraft jukeboxes and the mod's Golden Jukebox. The Golden Jukebox adds adjustable broadcast range, but regular jukeboxes play the discs fine.
How do I store multiple discs together?
Craft an Album item and place up to nine custom discs inside it. You can dye the album cover to different colors using the Disc Dyeing Table to organize your collection.
Can speakers play music in different rooms?
Yes, mount directional Speakers on walls, floors, or ceilings and they'll broadcast music in the direction they face. Use multiple speakers to cover different areas of your base.
Does the boombox need discs or can it play anything?
The portable Boombox plays custom music discs or entire albums that you place inside it, letting you carry music wherever you go in your world.
How do I turn off a speaker without breaking it?
Send a redstone signal to a speaker and it will mute. This lets you control playback remotely using redstone contraptions.
Will everyone hear the same song at the same time on multiplayer?
Yes, the mod synchronizes music playback across multiplayer servers so all players hear the same part of the track at the same time.
What happens if I try to use a live radio stream?
Live streams work but display a live status indicator instead of a fixed track length. The speaker will broadcast the stream as long as it's available.
Can I see the song title and artist on the disc?
Yes, hover over any custom music disc in your inventory to see the song title, artist name, track length, and cover art in the tooltip.
