Get a Variant Crystal

Variant Crystals are the key to customizing your gate's appearance. Find or craft one that matches the theme you want—options include Brass, Forest, Jungle, Flesh, Electikosian, Quartz, and Tollan (End-themed).

Apply the Crystal to Your Gate

1. Build a complete Stargate using the standard Stargate Journey mod blocks

2. Ensure the gate is fully constructed and stable

3. Hold the Variant Crystal in your hand

4. Right-click on any part of your finished Stargate

5. The gate will transform to match the crystal's theme

What Changes

Both the visual appearance and sound effects of your gate will update instantly. The event horizon color, chevron glow, and ring texture will all reflect your chosen variant. You can swap crystals anytime to try different looks without rebuilding.

Tips

Different biomes and building styles pair well with specific variants—use Jungle in a forest base, Brass in a metallic structure, or the End variant near your Tollan gate for thematic consistency.
