How to Make Glass Windows Look Seamless with Connected Textures

Placing Glass So the Borders Disappear

Connected textures work by detecting when the same block is placed next to itself, then swapping the edge texture for one that blends into its neighbor. For glass, this means a single pane of glass still shows a full frame, but a wall of glass shows frames only around the outside of the whole shape.

To get the seamless look:

1. Place your glass blocks directly adjacent to each other — no gaps, no alternating block types. Every block touching another glass block on a side will merge.

2. Keep the glass all the same type. Mixing regular glass with stained glass, or with glass panes, breaks the connection at that boundary and you will see a hard edge there.

3. Build your window as one flat plane where possible. A window that steps in and out of the wall will still connect, but corners and depth changes create visible seams because the faces point different directions.

Fixing Windows That Won't Merge

If part of your window still shows individual frames, check for a stray block interrupting the run — a single differently-colored block, a torch, or a pane placed in the middle of full blocks. Remove or replace it and the surrounding glass should reconnect automatically. You do not need to replace the glass; the texture updates on its own once the neighbor changes.
