Getting Started with Batteries

The wireless energy system in Mechanization revolves around batteries. To begin, you need to craft a Tier 1 Battery using white wool, copper ingots, redstone, and a Tier 1 Frame. Place this battery in your world—it will serve as your power hub.

Connecting Machines to Your Grid

All machines within the battery's transfer range (12 blocks for Tier 1) will automatically connect to it. To verify connections and monitor energy flow, use the Multimeter: right-click any machine to see its stored energy and status.

If you want to isolate machines into separate networks, use the Multimeter's sneak + right-click function to assign a custom grid id. Machines on different grid ids won't share power, even if in range.

Expanding Your Network

As you progress, upgrade to higher-tier batteries for increased capacity and transfer range. Tier 2 batteries reach 16 blocks and handle 400 kW, while Tier 3 extends to 24 blocks. Remember: batteries retain their energy when broken with a Machine Wrench, so you can relocate them freely as your base grows.
