Mechanization Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start with Mechanization?
First, craft a Machine Crafting Table (looks like an anvil) in a vanilla crafting table. Then use it to craft a Tier 1 Battery, which is essential for powering any machines. Once you have a battery placed down, you can start crafting generators and other machines to build your power grid.
Why isn't my machine receiving power?
Make sure your machine and battery are set to the same grid id—use the Multimeter to check and assign grid ids if needed. Also verify that the battery has stored energy and that your machine is within the battery's transfer range (Tier 1 reaches 12 blocks, higher tiers reach further).
How do I move a machine without losing its data?
Use the Machine Wrench: sneak + right-click on the machine to break it and return it to item form. The machine will retain all its stored energy and settings when you place it down again.
What's the difference between grid ids?
Grid ids let you create separate, isolated power networks so machines only interact with batteries and devices on the same id. This is useful for managing multiple projects or preventing other players from draining your power in multiplayer.
Can I use Quantum Batteries across dimensions?
Yes—Quantum Batteries share their stored energy with all other Quantum Batteries on the same grid id, regardless of distance or dimension, making them ideal for linking distant bases.
How do I rotate or configure a machine?
Right-click on the machine with a Machine Wrench to perform its configuration action, which usually rotates it or changes its mode depending on the machine type.
What tool should I use to check my power grid status?
Use the Multimeter—right-click it on any machine to see how much energy it's storing, and some machines display additional information like processing status or output rates.
Do I need Just Enough Items to use this mod?
It's strongly recommended, as it lets you view all the crafting recipes for Mechanization machines and items within the game.
Will this mod cause lag on my server?
No—Mechanization is designed to cause nearly zero lag, making it suitable for both single-player and multiplayer worlds.
Which battery should I craft first?
Start with a Tier 1 Battery since it requires the simplest ingredients and provides enough capacity and range to begin your first generators and machines; upgrade to higher tiers as your power demands grow.
