LLibrary FAQ
20 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does LLibrary actually do if it adds no blocks or items?
How do I know which of my mods need LLibrary?
Check your mods folder for mods that list LLibrary as a required dependency, usually shown on their download page or in their mod metadata. If a mod crashes on startup with a missing dependency error naming LLibrary, that mod is one of them.
Do I need to do anything to set up LLibrary after installing it?
No, LLibrary runs automatically in the background once it's in your mods folder alongside the mods that use it. There's nothing to activate or configure for the library itself.
Where do I find the config options for mods that use LLibrary?
Most LLibrary-based mods generate their own config files in the standard config folder, so look there rather than in LLibrary's own files. Some mods also expose settings through an in-game config menu provided by the library.
Why does my game crash and mention LLibrary when I only installed one mod?
That mod likely depends on LLibrary but you haven't installed the library itself, or you have a version that doesn't match what the mod expects. Adding the correct LLibrary version for your mod loader usually resolves it.
Can two mods that both use LLibrary conflict with each other?
They can if they were built against different LLibrary versions, since the library needs to satisfy all of them at once. Using a single LLibrary version that all your dependent mods support avoids most conflicts.
Does LLibrary affect game performance or FPS?
The library itself adds negligible overhead; any performance impact comes from the mods built on top of it. If you notice lag, it's usually the dependent mod's features rather than LLibrary.
Will removing LLibrary break my world or save?
Removing LLibrary will prevent any mods that depend on it from loading, which can cause missing content or crashes in worlds that used those mods. Back up your world before removing it, and remove the dependent mods too if you want a clean setup.
Why do animations or models from certain mods look broken?
Mods that rely on LLibrary for animation and rendering can glitch if the library version is outdated or mismatched. Updating LLibrary to a version compatible with those mods typically fixes the visuals.
Is LLibrary required on both client and server?
Yes, LLibrary must be installed on both the client and the server for dependent mods to work correctly in multiplayer. Missing it on either side usually causes connection or loading errors.
What does the LLibrary Mod do?
LLibrary is a shared code library mod that provides underlying
framework support for other Minecraft mods. It gives those mods tools like animation APIs, mob data handlers, GUI frameworks, and an update checker.
