Light Leak Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to enable light leak in settings or does it work automatically?
Light Leak works automatically once installed—there are no in-game toggles or settings to enable. The effects will apply to all compatible light sources in your world right away.
Why are my light leak effects not showing up?
Make sure the resource pack is selected and ranked above any conflicting packs in your resource pack list. If effects still don't appear, check that your graphics settings aren't set to Fabulous or that particle effects aren't disabled entirely.
Does light leak work with shader mods?
Light Leak can work alongside most shader mods, but compatibility depends on the specific shader—some may conflict with the glow effects or particle rendering. Test it in your world to see if the effects display correctly.
Which blocks and items get the light leak effects?
Torches, lanterns, furnaces, blast furnaces, smokers, redstone lamps, rails, lava,
glowstone, shroomlights, and froglights all receive cinematic effects. Some blocks get new models while others get particle and glow enhancements.

Yes, Light Leak adds particles and complex models which increases rendering load. Reducing your particle effects setting or disabling the pack in areas with many light sources can help recover performance.
Can I use light leak with other resource packs?
You can layer Light Leak with other packs by placing it lower in your resource pack list, though visual conflicts may occur if another pack also modifies the same blocks. Experiment with pack order to find what works best.
Do the light leak effects actually change how mobs see light or is it just visual?
Light Leak is purely visual and does not affect game mechanics—mob spawning, light levels, and pathfinding all work exactly as vanilla Minecraft does.
Why do some of my torches look different than others?
Different torch types (normal, soul, redstone) have their own distinct colored light effects in Light Leak. Soul torches will have different shimmer colors than regular torches, for example.
Does light leak work in the nether and end?
Yes, Light Leak effects apply to all dimensions. Nether light sources like soul torches and lava will display their cinematic effects just as they do in the Overworld.
Can I turn off light leak effects for specific blocks only?
Light Leak doesn't have per-block toggles, but you can create a custom resource pack that overrides specific blocks to remove their effects while keeping others.
