How do I get my first companion?
When you load into a world, you'll receive a starter guide book and 10 emeralds in your inventory. Search villages and nearby areas for wild companions, then hand one an emerald to tame it.
What's the best class for a beginner?
Warrior is the most straightforward class for new players since it focuses on direct melee combat and strong armor without requiring special mechanics. You can always experiment with other classes on future companions once you understand the mod better.
My companion keeps dying. How do I revive them?
When your companion falls, they don't disappear instantly—you have time to reach them and help them back up. Equip them with better armor and weapons, and consider their class abilities when fighting dangerous mobs.
Can my companion use the same tools and weapons I do?
Yes, you can equip your companion with any armor and weapons from your inventory through the companion menu. They'll switch weapons intelligently during combat based on the situation.
How do I unlock my companion's special abilities?
Your companion gains levels through combat and activities, and at level 10 they'll pick one of seven classes. As they level up further, new abilities unlock through their progression tree.
What happens when my companion reaches level 200?
At maximum level, your companion can undergo a rebirth to start over at level 1 while retaining some benefits. When they fall in combat, they leave behind a named memento that passes special traits to your next companion.
Can my companion help me gather resources?
Yes—the Miner class specializes in digging and gathering ores, and any companion can help chop trees or break blocks. All companions can also use the

Can my companion guard my base?
Yes, set a home location through the companion menu and they'll patrol your base and defend it from hostiles. They'll also place torches in dark areas and can socialize around campfires with other companions.
