The Standalone
Glass Limitation
Kinda Connected Glass removes borders from all glass blocks, including isolated ones. When a glass block has no adjacent glass neighbors, it displays without the connected texture, which can look unusual compared to vanilla Minecraft's bordered glass.
Why This Happens:
The resource pack uses connected textures—a feature that changes a block's appearance based on neighboring blocks. Vanilla Minecraft's rendering system requires borders on standalone blocks for visual clarity. Removing these borders from single blocks is the trade-off for achieving seamless connected glass.
Practical Workarounds
- Group glass blocks together whenever possible, even in small clusters
- Use glass panes for decorative or isolated transparent elements
- Place glass against solid blocks to hide the unusual appearance
- Build glass into walls rather than as standalone features
- Use interior lighting to draw attention away from isolated glass blocks
This limitation is inherent to how connected textures work in Minecraft. The seamless effect for connected glass is worth this minor trade-off, especially in large structures where most glass blocks connect to others.
