How to Get Smoother Performance with Trio Shader

Any shader pack adds work for your graphics card, mostly from lighting and shadows. Trio Shader is meant for simple everyday play. On weaker computers you may still need to adjust things to keep the frame rate steady.

Lighten the load with vanilla settings

Open Options > Video Settings and adjust these one at a time. Check your frame rate after each change.

1. Render Distance: Lower it a few chunks. Fewer chunks means less terrain to light and shade.

2. Simulation Distance: Lower it if your world has lots of farms or mobs.

3. Clouds: Set them to fast or off.

4. Particles: Reduce them to cut extra rendering work.

5. Max Framerate / VSync: Cap the frame rate to your monitor's refresh rate. This avoids wasted work and can stop stuttering.

Use the shader only when you want it

  • Your loader lets you switch shaders off from the shader menu without leaving the world. Turn Trio Shader off during laggy tasks, such as large redstone builds. Turn it back on when you're exploring or taking screenshots.
  • Some loaders also offer a key to toggle shaders. Check Options > Controls > Key Binds to see what yours provides.
  • If the pack opens a settings screen from the shader menu, look for shadow or quality options there. Shadows are usually the most demanding effect.
