How to Fix Trio Shader Not Showing Up or Looking Wrong

Most Trio Shader problems come from where the file is placed or from the loader setup. Work through these checks in order.

The pack isn't in the shader list

1. No loader: Shader packs need Iris or OptiFine. If you can't find a Shader Packs or Shaders button in Video Settings, no loader is running. Check your launcher profile.

2. Wrong folder: The file must go in shaderpacks, not resourcepacks. Use the folder button in the shader menu so you open the correct folder.

3. Nested folders: If you unzipped the file, the shader files may be buried one folder too deep. Putting the original zipped file back in shaderpacks is usually the simplest fix.

4. Refresh: Close and reopen the shader menu, or restart the game.

The pack loads but looks off

  • No shadows or water changes: Trio Shader may not be the active pack. Select it again and press Apply.
  • Screen too dark: The pack is meant to keep the landscape bright and readable. Raise Brightness in Video Settings. If the pack has its own settings screen, look for brightness or lighting options there.
  • Odd colors on blocks: Turn off your resource packs one at a time. A texture pack can clash with the shader's lighting.
  • Black or broken screen: Turn shaders off in the menu and update your loader and graphics drivers. Then enable Trio Shader again.
