Confirm Iris Is Active
Check that Iris is properly installed by opening Options > Video Settings. You should see a Shaders button. If it's missing, Iris isn't loaded—reinstall it.
Verify Shader Selection
1. Go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders
2. Confirm Source Water Shaders is highlighted and selected
3. Look for a checkmark or "Active" indicator
Check Shader Compilation
Watch the chat or corner of the screen for compilation messages. If an error appears, the shader pack file may be corrupted—try reinstalling it.
Disable Conflicting Settings
- Turn off Fast Graphics mode if enabled
- Ensure Fancy Graphics is selected in Video Settings
- Disable other shader packs or mods that modify water rendering
Restart and Test
Close and reopen Minecraft completely. Load a world with water and look for reflective surfaces and wave patterns. If still broken, check that your GPU drivers are up to date.
