Which Mobs Are Affected

SSL's Soft Textures updates the appearance of several animals and mobs, giving them warmer, softer visual designs:

  • Chickens: Rounded, gentler feather appearance
  • Cats: Softer fur texture with warm coloring
  • Tamed wolves: Smoother coat with cozy tones
  • Ghasts: Softened floating appearance
  • Horses: Enhanced detail, especially visible with armor

Seeing the Changes

1. Find or breed animals in your world

2. Tame wolves with bones to see their custom appearance

3. Equip horse armor (including netherite variants) to view specialized textures

4. Observe how the softened designs feel less harsh than vanilla mobs

Visual Impact

The softer mob textures reduce the blocky feel of Minecraft's default designs. Chickens appear fluffier, cats look more inviting, and tamed wolves feel more like genuine companions.
