Why Your Overlays Aren't Showing

Matcha Block Overlays requires a connected textures mod to function. Without one, the smooth transitions between blocks won't render—you'll see the pack's base textures only.

Installing a Connected Textures Mod

You need either OptiFine or Continuity installed in your game:

  • OptiFine: Install as a Forge mod or standalone. Once active, connected textures load automatically.
  • Continuity: A lighter alternative for Fabric. Install via your mod manager.

Both mods read the overlay files Matcha Block Overlays provides and blend block edges where they meet.

Checking Your Setup

Load a world with the pack active. Look at:

  • Mossy cobblestone touching dirt or stone
  • Grass and stone meeting on a cliff
  • Brick blocks placed next to each other

If edges are sharp and pixelated, your connected textures mod isn't running. If they're soft and blended, you're set.

Pack Load Order

Place Matcha Block Overlays *above* other overlay packs in your resource pack menu. This ensures its blending effects take priority over conflicting textures from other packs.
