Why Lower Grass Sides Matter

By default, Minecraft grass blocks show a full-height dirt stripe on their sides. This creates a visible seam between stacked grass blocks, making hillsides look cluttered. The Faithful 32x Lower Grass Sides pack reduces this overlay, so the green grass color extends further down the block face.

How to See the Effect

1. Load a world with the resource pack enabled alongside Faithful 32x

2. Travel to any grassy hill or mountain

3. Look at the sides of terrain blocks from a distance

4. Compare with vanilla or unmodded Faithful 32x—you'll notice cleaner, less striped hillsides

Best Viewing Locations

The effect is most noticeable on:

  • Steep mountain slopes
  • Hillsides with multiple block layers visible
  • Biomes with large open terrain (plains, meadows, cherry groves)
  • Elevated structures built with grass blocks

The pack works automatically—no configuration needed. Simply having it loaded will apply the lower side textures to all compatible terrain blocks in your world.
