Rule Out Pack Conflicts First

A vanilla-looking zombie almost always means another resource pack is overriding Blue's Better Zombies. Open Options → Resource Packs and check the order: the pack that sits *highest* in the Selected list wins for any file both packs edit. Move Blue's Better Zombies to the top and reload. If you use a mod loader's built-in pack folder, confirm the pack is enabled there too, not just in the vanilla menu.

Verify the Pack Actually Loaded

Press F3 + T to reload resources, then look at a zombie up close. If the model and face are still blocky and flat, the pack may be failing to load. Check that the folder structure inside the pack is correct — the assets folder must sit at the top level of the pack, not nested inside an extra directory. A misplaced folder is the most common cause of a pack that appears enabled but does nothing.

Test in a Clean Setup

Temporarily disable every other resource pack and load only Blue's Better Zombies. If the zombies now look upgraded, re-enable your other packs one at a time to find the culprit. Remember this pack only changes appearance — if you expected different zombie *behavior* and see none, that is normal, since models, textures, and animations are all it touches.
