Visual Differences in the Resource Pack
The Better Books Resource Pack makes it easy to tell enchanted and regular books apart at a glance, both when held and on the ground.
How to Identify Them
Regular Books: Appear in natural brown and tan colors with standard paper texture. They have a clean, neutral appearance whether held in your hand or dropped on the ground.
Enchanted Books: Display a distinctive purple or blue glow and shimmer effect. This magical appearance makes them instantly recognizable, matching Minecraft's standard enchanted item aesthetic.
Practical Uses
- Quickly sort your inventory by looking at book colors
- Create visually striking displays by grouping enchanted books together
- Use the color difference to organize library walls—enchanted books as highlights, regular books as the base collection
- Identify valuable books in item frames from across the room
In Item Frames
The 3D model effect is particularly striking with enchanted books in frames, as the purple/blue glow stands out against walls. Use this to draw attention to your most important or valuable enchanted books in decorative displays.
