Why the Seam Looks Wrong

Distant Horizons renders far terrain as simplified LODs, while nearby chunks render normally. Without proper blending, you see a visible line where detailed terrain ends and LODs begin. This is the most common visual complaint.

Enabling Transition Effects

Open the Distant Horizons config and look for Vanilla Fade, Fade Distance, or a similar transition setting. Enabling this makes vanilla chunks gradually fade into LOD terrain instead of cutting off abruptly.

Increase the fade distance so the transition happens over more chunks. A longer fade hides the quality difference better, though it costs some performance.

Check for a Transparency or Overdraw Prevention option. These help LODs render behind vanilla terrain correctly so you don't see LODs poking through nearby blocks.

Matching Visual Quality

Raise LOD Quality so distant terrain has similar color and shape to nearby chunks. If LODs look flat or washed out, this is usually a quality setting issue rather than a bug.

If you use shaders, make sure your shader pack supports Distant Horizons. Packs without support may render LODs with mismatched lighting. Select a compatible pack and enable any Distant Horizons option inside the shader settings.
