How to Tame a Cat in Simply Cats

Getting the Cat's Attention

Hold Catnip and approach a wild cat. Cats are attracted to Catnip, so keeping it in your hand makes them follow you.

Completing the Tame

Once a cat is following you, right-click it with Catnip in hand. Keep feeding until hearts appear and the cat is tamed. A tamed cat will no longer flee and will stay near you.

After Taming

Use an Adoption Certificate on a tamed cat to register ownership. If you need to move a cat, craft and use a Pet Carrier to pick it up and place it somewhere safe. To release a cat back into the world, use a Release Certificate.

Keeping Your Cat Comfortable

Place a Cat Bowl filled with food nearby so your cat can eat without wandering. Add a Litter Box so it has a place to relieve itself. A Tree Bed, Tree Box, or Tree Post gives it somewhere to rest and scratch. Any color works — Black, Blue, Brown, Cyan, Gray, Green, Light Blue, Light Gray, Lime, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, or White.

Sterilization

If you want to prevent a tamed cat from breeding, use a Sterilization Potion on it. This stops litters from forming while keeping the cat as a pet.
