Understand scaling types

When you make mobs larger, their health and damage don't automatically increase. You must configure how these attributes respond to size changes using scaling types: normal (scales linearly), square (scales with size²), inverse (larger = weaker), or none (unchanged).

Set health and damage scaling

Add scale_health and scale_damage to your mob configuration:

`

/mobscalings set <entity_type> uniform {min_scaling:0.75, max_scaling:1.5, scale_health:"normal", scale_damage:"normal"}

`

This makes a 1.5× sized mob have 1.5× health and damage.

Balance large mobs

For huge mobs, consider using square scaling for damage (so a 2× mob deals 4× damage) but normal for health. Or use inverse damage so larger mobs are slower and weaker, creating a tactical trade-off.

Test combat difficulty

Spawn a scaled mob and fight it. If it's too punishing, switch to inverse scaling or reduce your size range. Remember: a giant mob with full damage output can trivialize or break your game.
