How do I get a Nature's Compass in the first place?
How do I actually search for a biome with the compass?
Right-click while holding the compass to open a searchable list of biomes, pick the one you want, and the needle will spin and point toward the nearest matching biome. Follow the needle direction and watch the distance readout
shrink as you get closer.
shrink as you get closer. Why does my compass keep spinning and never settle on a direction?
A spinning needle usually means the compass is still searching or the target biome is extremely far away or not present in your current dimension. Give it a moment, then try a different biome or move to another dimension and search again.
Can I use the Nature's Compass in the Nether or the End?
Yes, but biome targeting works differently there because those dimensions have their own biome sets. Open the search screen in the Nether or End and only biomes that actually exist in that dimension will be selectable.
Does the compass work in other modded dimensions?
It can work in modded dimensions if those dimensions register their biomes properly with the game. If a dimension doesn't expose biome data, the compass may show no valid targets or fail to point anywhere.
How do I change the search radius or which biomes show up?
Open the compass settings from the search screen to adjust search radius and filter options. You can also edit the config file to blacklist biomes or change default behavior if the in-game options aren't enough.
Can I search for biomes from other mods?
Yes, biomes added by other mods appear in the search list as long as they're properly registered. If a modded biome is missing, check that the mod is loaded and that the biome isn't blacklisted in the config.
Why can't I find a biome that I know exists?
The compass only points to the nearest instance within its search radius, so a biome outside that range won't be found. Increase the search radius in settings or config, or move closer and search again.
Does the compass work in multiplayer or on a server?
It works on servers, but the server must have the mod installed for biome data to be available. On vanilla servers without the mod, the compass won't function.
Does the Nature's Compass cause lag or performance issues?
Searching is lightweight and only runs when you open the screen or refresh a target, so it shouldn't cause noticeable lag. Very large search radii or frequent searches in heavily modded worlds can add minor overhead, so keep the radius reasonable.
